राम बिरह सागर महँ भरत मगन मन होत। बिप्र रूप धरि पवनसुत आइ गयउ जनु पोत॥ १ (क) ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
rāma biraha sāgara mahaṃ bharata magana mana hota। bipra rūpa dhari pavanasuta āi gayau janu pota॥ 1 (a) ॥
Meaning
While Bharata’s mind was drowning in the ocean of separation from Rama, Hanuman, the son of the Wind-god, arrived in the guise of a Brahmin, just as though a boat had come to save one about to drown.
