Backstory

How This Project Came To Life

This project grew out of an earlier devotional app, a year of quiet organic usage, and a commitment to build a fuller reading experience for Sri Ramcharitmanas.

Ram Shalaka Came First

The earlier Ram Shalaka app was released shortly after the inauguration of the Sri Rama Temple in Ayodhya. The work had started earlier, inspired by the creator's brother, but that moment gave the final push to release it around 25–26 January 2024.

A New Resolve Was Made

After seeing organic usage reach the Ram Shalaka app without any promotion, a new resolve emerged: to build a dedicated app for the full Sri Ramcharitmanas with better structure, readability, and fidelity to the text.

The First Iteration Arrived

Around Ram Navami 2026, the first iteration of this project was released as a focused foundation for reading the text cleanly, navigating kandas and episodes, and improving the experience over time.

Ad-Free

The page stays focused on reading, without ads or attention traps.

Mobile Friendly

The layout is built for phones first, while still feeling spacious on larger screens.

Source-Checked Text

Many source mismatches have been checked against the Gita Press edition, with ongoing correction of remaining issues.

Made with Devotion

Respectful presentation of sacred text

Authenticity

Checked against Gita Press Edition

This edition is being checked against the Gita Press Gorakhpur text, with special attention to verses that differ across multiple source datasets. Many OCR and source mismatches have been manually reviewed and corrected, and the text continues to be improved with care.

Text quality matters here. This edition is being assembled with deliberate source comparison, and many mismatches from multiple data sources have been checked against the Gita Press copy and corrected.

The goal is not just to host the text, but to present it in a way that feels dependable, uncluttered, and worthy of repeated reading.
