कह दसकंठ कवन तैं बंदर। मैं रघुबीर दूत दसकंधर॥ मम जनकहि तोहि रही मिताई। तव हित कारन आयउँ भाई॥ १ ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

kaha dasakaṃṭha kavana taiṃ bandara। maiṃ raghubīra dūta dasakaṃdhara॥ mama janakahi tohi rahī mitāī। tava hita kārana āyauṃ bhāī॥ 1 ॥

Meaning

Ravana said, 'O monkey, who are you?' [Angad replied:] 'I am the messenger of Raghubir, O Dashakandhara. There was friendship between my father and you. Therefore, brother, I have come only for your welfare.'
