जानत परम दुर्ग अति लंका। प्रभु प्रताप कपि चले असंका॥ घटाटोप करि चहुँ दिसि घेरी। मुखहिं निसान बजावहिं भेरी॥ ५ ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
jānata parama durga ati laṃkā। prabhu pratāpa kapi cale asaṃkā॥ ghaṭāṭopa kari cahuṃ disi gherī। mukhahim nisāna bajāvahim bherī॥ 5 ॥
Meaning
Though they knew Lanka to be an immensely strong fortress, the monkeys advanced fearlessly, trusting in the power of Lord Rama. Encircling Lanka on all sides like a mass of storm clouds, they sounded the war-drums and kettledrums with their mouths.
