सतीं कीन्ह सीता कर बेषा। सिव उर भयउ बिषाद बिसेषा॥ जौं अब करउँ सती सन प्रीती। मिटइ भगति पथु होइ अनीती॥ ४ ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

satīṃ kīnha sītā kara beṣā। siva ura bhayau biṣāda biseṣā॥ jaṃu aba karaum̐ satī sana prītī। miṭai bhagati pathu hoi anītī॥ 4 ॥

Meaning

When Shiva learned that Sati had assumed Sita’s form, great grief arose in his heart. He thought, if I now show affection to Sati, then the path of devotion is destroyed and grave injustice follows.
