गरजहिं गज घंटा धुनि घोरा। रथ रव बाजि हिंस चहु ओरा॥ निदरि घनहि घुर्म्मरहिं निसाना। निज पराइ कछु सुनिअ न काना॥ १ ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
garajahiṃ gaja ghaṃṭā dhuni ghorā। ratha rava bāji hiṃsa cahu orā॥ nidari ghanahi ghurmmarahiṃ nisānā। nija parāi kachu suni'a na kānā॥ 1 ॥
Meaning
Elephants are trumpeting, and the dreadful sound of their bells is resounding. All around, chariots rattle and horses neigh. The kettledrums thunder defiantly against the clouds. No one can hear anything—whether his own or another’s—by ear.
