राउ सुनाइ दीन्ह बनबासू। सुनि मन भयउ न हरषु हराँसू॥ सो सुत बिछुरत गए न प्राना। को पापी बड़ मोहि समाना॥ ४ ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
rāu sunāi dīnha banabāsū। suni mana bhayau na haraṣu harāṃsū॥ so suta bichurata gae na prānā। ko pāpī baḍa mohi samānā॥ 4 ॥
Meaning
And he says, 'I spoke of the king's command and sent him into exile. Even after hearing it, his mind showed neither joy nor sorrow. If my life did not leave me even when I was parting from such a son, then who is the greater sinner than me?'
Context
This is Chaupai 4, Under Doha 149 from Ayodhya Kand, in the episode “Dashrath's Last Words and His Death”. The episode describes Dasharatha's grief-stricken final words to Sumantra and his death from separation from Rama.
