पुनि पुनि पूँछत मंत्रिहि राऊ। प्रियतम सुअन सँदेस सुनाऊ॥ करहि सखा सोइ बेगि उपाऊ। रामु लखनु सिय नयन देखाऊ॥ १ ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

puni puni pūṃchata maṃtrihi rāū। priyatama suana saṃdesa sunāū॥ karahi sakhā soi begi upāū। rāmu lakhanu siya nayana dekhāū॥ 1 ॥

Meaning

Again and again the king asks the minister: Tell me the message of my beloved sons. O friend, quickly find some way by which I may see Rama, Lakshmana, and Sita with my own eyes.
