एवमस्तु कहि रघुकुलनायक। बोले बचन परम सुखदायक॥ सुनु बायस तैं सहज सयाना। काहे न मागसि अस बरदाना॥ १ ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

evamastu kahi raghukulanāyaka। bole bacana parama sukhadāyaka॥ sunu bāyasa taiṃ sahaja sayānā। kāhe na māgasi asa baradānā॥ 1 ॥

Meaning

Saying, 'So be it,' the Lord of the Raghu line spoke most pleasing words: 'Listen, crow, you are naturally wise. Why would you not ask for such a boon?'
