बिनु तप तेज कि कर बिस्तारा। जल बिनु रस कि होइ संसारा॥ सील कि मिल बिनु बुध सेवकाई। जिमि बिनु तेज न रूप गोसाँई॥ ३ ॥

binu tapa teja ki kara bistārā। jala binu rasa ki hoi saṃsārā॥ sīla ki mila binu budha sevakāī। jimi binu teja na rūpa gosāṃī॥ 3 ॥

Without austerity, how can radiance spread? Without the element of water, what taste can there be in the world? Without serving the learned, how can virtue and good conduct be attained? O Gosain, just as form cannot exist without the element of fire...
