बिनु संतोष न काम नसाहीं। काम अछत सुख सपनेहुँ नाहीं॥ राम भजन बिनु मिटहिं कि कामा। थल बिहीन तरु कबहुँ कि जामा॥ १ ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

binu santoṣa na kāma nasāhīṃ। kāma achata sukha sapanēhuṃ nāhīṃ॥ rāma bhajana binu miṭahiṃ ki kāmā। thala bihīna taru kabahuṃ ki jāmā॥ 1 ॥

Meaning

Without contentment, desire cannot be destroyed, and as long as desire remains, there can be no happiness even in a dream. Can desires ever be removed without devotion to Shri Ram? Can a tree grow anywhere without soil?
