कह सीता बिधि भा प्रतिकूला। मिलिहि न पावक मिटिहि न सूला॥ देखिअत प्रगट गगन अंगारा। अवनि न आवत एकउ तारा॥ ४ ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

kaha sītā bidhi bhā pratikūlā। milihi na pāvaka miṭihi na sūlā॥ dekhiyata pragaṭa gagana aṅgārā। avani na āvata ekau tārā॥ 4 ॥

Meaning

Sita said to herself, “What can I do? Fate itself has turned hostile. I cannot find fire, nor can my suffering be removed. Sparks seem to appear in the sky, yet not a single star comes down to the earth.”
