घन घमंड नभ गरजत घोरा। प्रिया हीन डरपत मन मोरा॥ दामिनि दमक रह न घन माहीं। खल कै प्रीति जथा थिर नाहीं॥ १ ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
ghana ghamanda nabha garajata ghorā। priyā hīna ḍarapata mana morā॥ dāmini damaka raha na ghana māhīṃ। khala kai prīti jathā thira nāhīṃ॥ 1 ॥
Meaning
The proud clouds are thundering fiercely in the sky, and my heart trembles in the absence of my beloved. Lightning does not stay fixed within the clouds, just as the affection of the wicked is never steady.
