बालि त्रास ब्याकुल दिन राती। तन बहु ब्रन चिंताँ जर छाती॥ सोइ सुग्रीव कीन्ह कपिराऊ। अति कृपाल रघुबीर सुभाऊ॥ २ ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

bāli trāsa byākula dina rātī। tana bahu brana cintāṃ jara chātī॥ soi sugrīva kīnha kapirāū। ati kṛpāla raghubīra subhāū॥ 2 ॥

Meaning

The very Sugriva who was tormented day and night by fear of Bali, whose body was full of wounds and whose heart burned with anxiety, was made king of the monkeys. Rama's nature is supremely compassionate.
