सखि सब कौतुकु देखनिहारे। जेउ कहावत हितू हमारे॥ कोउ न बुझाइ कहइ गुर पाहीं। ए बालक असि हठ भलि नाहीं॥ १ ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
sakhi saba kautuku dekhanihāre। jeu kahāvata hitū hamāre॥ kou na bujhāi kahai guru pāhīṃ। e bālaka asi haṭha bhali nāhīṃ॥ 1 ॥
Meaning
O sister, even those who call themselves our well-wishers are all mere spectators. Why does no one go and explain to Guru Vishvamitra that this is only a child, and such obstinacy is not proper? [The queen found it unreasonable that the sage should ask Rama to break a bow that could not be moved even by world-conquering heroes like Ravana and Banasura.]
