सबु समाजु एहि भाँति बनाई। जनक अवधपुर दीन्ह पठाई॥ चलिहि बरात सुनत सब रानीं। बिकल मीनगन जनु लघु पानीं॥ १ ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

sabu samāju ehi bhāṃti banāī। janaka avadhapura dīnha paṭhāī॥ calihi barāta sunata saba rānīṃ। bikala mīnagana janu laghu pānīṃ॥ 1 ॥

Meaning

In this way, having made all the arrangements, King Janaka sent word to Ayodhya. When the queens heard that the wedding procession would depart, they became distraught, like fish writhing in shallow water.
