नीकें निरखि नयन भरि सोभा। पितु पनु सुमिरि बहुरि मनु छोभा॥ अहह तात दारुनि हठ ठानी। समुझत नहिं कछु लाभु न हानी॥ १ ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

nīkeṃ nirakhi nayana bhari sobhā। pitu panu sumiri bahuri manu chobhā॥ ahaha tāta dāruni haṭha ṭhānī। samujhata nahim kachu lābhu na hānī॥ 1 ॥

Meaning

Looking carefully, with eyes full, at Rama’s beauty, and then remembering her father’s vow, Sita’s mind was again disturbed. ‘Ah, father has taken a terrible resolve, and he considers neither gain nor loss.’
