मिले जनकु दसरथु अति प्रीतीं। करि बैदिक लौकिक सब रीतीं॥ मिलत महा दोउ राज बिराजे। उपमा खोजि खोजि कबि लाजे॥ १ ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
mile janaku dasarathu ati prītīṃ। kari baidika laukika saba rītīṃ॥ milata mahā dou rāja birāje। upamā khoji khoji kabi lāje॥ 1 ॥
Meaning
Janaka and Dasharatha met with great affection, observing all the sacred and worldly formalities. As the two great kings came together, they looked splendid indeed, and the poets, searching again and again for a comparison, felt ashamed.
