मन पछिताति सीय महतारी। बिधि अब सँवरी बात बिगारी॥ भृगुपति कर सुभाउ सुनि सीता। अरध निमेष कलप सम बीता॥ ४ ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

mana pachitāti sīya mahatārī। bidhi aba saṃvarī bāta bigārī॥ bhṛgupati kara subhāu suni sītā। aradha nimeṣa kalapa sama bītā॥ 4 ॥

Meaning

Sita’s mother was lamenting in her heart: “Alas! Fate has now ruined what was well arranged.” Hearing Bhargupati’s nature, even half a moment passed like an age for Sita.
