करि न जाइ सर मज्जन पाना। फिरि आवइ समेत अभिमाना॥ जौं बहोरि कोउ पूछन आवा। सर निंदा करि ताहि बुझावा॥ २ ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
kari na jāi sara majjana pānā। phiri āvai sameta abhimānā॥ jauṃ bahori kou pūṃchan āvā। sara niṃdā kari tāhi bujhāvā॥ 2 ॥
Meaning
There he is unable to bathe in the lake or drink its water, and returns full of pride. Then if someone comes asking him about it, he does not speak of his own failure; instead, he denounces the lake and talks the matter away.
