जे गावहिं यह चरित सँभारे। तेइ एहि ताल चतुर रखवारे॥ सदा सुनहिं सादर नर नारी। तेइ सुरबर मानस अधिकारी॥ १ ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
je gāvahiṃ yaha carita saṃbhāre। tei ehi tāla catura rakhavāre॥ sadā sunahiṃ sādar nara nārī। tei surabara mānasa adhikārī॥ 1 ॥
Meaning
Those who sing this tale with care are the clever guardians of this lake; and men and women who always listen to it reverently are the worthy noble beings of this beautiful Mānas.
