देखि कुठार बान धनु धारी। भै लरिकहि रिस बीरु बिचारी॥ नामु जान पै तुम्हहि न चीन्हा। बंस सुभायँ उतरु तेहिं दीन्हा॥ १ ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

dekhi kuṭhāra bāna dhanu dhārī। bhai larikahi risa bīru bicārī॥ nāmu jāna pai tumhahi na cīnhā। baṃsa subhāyaṃ utaru tehiṃ dīnhā॥ 1 ॥

Meaning

Seeing you wield an axe, arrows, and bow, and taking you for a warrior, the boy became angry. He did know your name, but he did not recognize you. He answered according to the natural character of his line.
