छत्रिय तनु धरि समर सकाना। कुल कलंकु तेहिं पावँर आना॥ कहउँ सुभाउ न कुलहि प्रसंसी। कालहु डरहिं न रन रघुबंसी॥ २ ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
chatriya tanu dhari samara sakānā। kula kalaṃku tehiṃ pāvaṃra ānā॥ kahauṃ subhāu na kulahiṃ prasaṃsī। kālahu ḍarahiṃ na rana raghubaṃsī॥ 2 ॥
Meaning
One who, having taken the body of a Kshatriya, grows afraid in battle brings disgrace upon his lineage. I say this not in praise of the family, but by nature: the descendants of Raghu do not fear Death in war.
