बाँधें बिरद बीर रन गाढ़े। निकसि भए पुर बाहेर ठाढ़े॥ फेरहिं चतुर तुरग गति नाना। हरषहिं सुनि सुनि पनव निसाना॥ १ ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

bāṃdheṃ birada bīra rana gāṛhe। nikasi bhae pura bāhera ṭhāṛhe॥ pherahiṃ catura turaga gati nānā। haraṣahiṃ suni suni panava nisānā॥ 1 ॥

Meaning

Clad in the garb of valor, all the heroic warriors came out and stood beyond the city. The clever ones were turning their horses in various ways and were rejoicing to hear the sounds of drums and kettledrums.
