बहइ न हाथु दहइ रिस छाती। भा कुठारु कुंठित नृपघाती॥ भयउ बाम बिधि फिरेउ सुभाऊ। मोरे हृदयँ कृपा कसि काऊ॥ १ ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
bahai na hāthu dahai risa chātī। bhā kuṭhāru kuṃṭhita nṛpaghātī॥ bhayau bāma bidhi phireu subhāū। more hṛdayaṃ kṛpā kasi kāū॥ 1 ॥
Meaning
My hand does not move; anger burns my chest. Alas, this axe, the slayer of kings, too has become blunted. Fate has turned adverse, and so my nature has changed; otherwise, how could there ever be compassion in my heart?
