थके नारि नर प्रेम पिआसे। मनहुँ मृगी मृग देखि दिआ से॥ सीय समीप ग्रामतिय जाहीं। पूँछत अति सनेहँ सकुचाहीं॥ २ ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

thake nāri nara prema piāse। manahuṃ mṛgī mṛga dekhi diyā se॥ sīya samīpa grāmatiyā jāhīṃ। pūṃchata ati sanehaṃ sakucāhīṃ॥ 2 ॥

Meaning

The men and women, thirsty for love, grow spellbound, as though a doe and a deer were transfixed by a lamp. The village women go near Sita, but are shy to ask anything because of their great affection.
