सोच सुमंत्र बिकल दुख दीना। धिग जीवन रघुबीर बिहीना॥ रहिहि न अंतहुँ अधम सरीरू। जसु न लहेउ बिछुरत रघुबीरू॥ २ ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

socha sumantra bikala dukha dīnā। dhiga jīvana raghubīra bihīnā॥ rahihi na antahũ adhama sarīrū। jasu na laheu bichurata raghubīrū॥ 2 ॥

Meaning

Sumantra, overwhelmed and helpless with grief, thinks: "Cursed is life without Lord Raghubir. This vile body cannot even remain. Why did it not end and attain fame at the moment it was separated from Rama?"
