गुह सारथिहि फिरेउ पहुँचाई। बिरहु बिषादु बरनि नहिं जाई॥ चले अवध लेइ रथहि निषादा। होहिं छनहिं छन मगन बिषादा॥ १ ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
guha sārathihi phireu pahuñcāī। birahu biṣādu barani nahiṃ jāī॥ cale avadha le'i rathahi niṣādā। hohĩ chanahĩ chana magana biṣādā॥ 1 ॥
Meaning
Guha escorted the charioteer Sumantra back and returned. The sorrow of separation cannot be described. The four Nishadas set out toward Ayodhya with the chariot. Seeing Sumantra and the horses, they too kept sinking into grief every moment.
