सीता लखन सहित रघुराई। गाँव निकट जब निकसहिं जाई॥ सुनि सब बाल बृद्ध नर नारी। चलहिं तुरत गृह काजु बिसारी॥ १ ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

sītā lakhana sahita raghurāī। gāṃva nikaṭa jaba nikasahiṃ jāī॥ suni saba bāla bṛddha nara nārī। calahiṃ turata gṛha kāju bisārī॥ 1 ॥

Meaning

When Rama, along with Sita and Lakshmana, comes near a village, as soon as news of their arrival spreads, children and elders, men and women all leave their homes and chores and hurry out to see them.
