सीलु सनेहु छाड़ि नहिं जाई। असमंजस बस भे रघुराई॥ लोग सोग श्रम बस गए सोई। कछुक देवमायाँ मति मोई॥ ३ ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
sīlu sanehu chāṛi nahiṃ jāī। asamaṃjasa basa bhe raghurāī॥ loga soga śrama basa gae soī। kachuka devamāyāṃ mati moī॥ 3 ॥
Meaning
Virtue and affection cannot be set aside. Raghurāi was caught in indecision. Weighed down by grief and exhaustion, the people fell asleep, and some were also deluded by the spell of the gods' māyā.
Context
This is Chaupai 3, Under Doha 85 from Ayodhya Kand, in the episode “Departure for the Forest, Ayodhya Left Behind”. The episode describes Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana departing for the forest while Ayodhya's grieving citizens are left sleeping behind.
