कहि सप्रेम मृदु बचन सुहाए। बहुबिधि राम लोग समुझाए॥ किए धरम उपदेस घनेरे। लोग प्रेम बस फिरहिं न फेरे॥ २ ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
kahi saprema mṛdu bacana suhāe। bahubidhi rāma loga samujhāe॥ kie dharama upadesa ghanere। loga prema basa phirahiṃ na phere॥ 2 ॥
Meaning
Speaking lovingly, in gentle and beautiful words, Rama explained things to the people in many ways. He gave many teachings on dharma; yet, out of love, the people would not turn back.
Context
This is Chaupai 2, Under Doha 85 from Ayodhya Kand, in the episode “Departure for the Forest, Ayodhya Left Behind”. The episode describes Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana departing for the forest while Ayodhya's grieving citizens are left sleeping behind.
