जबहिं जाम जुग जामिनि बीती। राम सचिव सन कहेउ सप्रीती॥ खोज मारि रथु हाँकहु ताता। आन उपायँ बनिहि नहिं बाता॥ ४ ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

jabahiṃ jāma juga jāmini bītī। rāma saciva sana kaheu saprītī॥ khoja māri rathu hāṃkahu tātā। āna upāyaṃ banihi nahiṃ bātā॥ 4 ॥

Meaning

When two watches of the night had passed, Rama, with affection, said to his minister Sumantra: 'Father, drive the chariot so that its tracks are hidden. There is no other way this can be done.'

Context

This is Chaupai 4, Under Doha 85 from Ayodhya Kand, in the episode “Departure for the Forest, Ayodhya Left Behind”. The episode describes Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana departing for the forest while Ayodhya's grieving citizens are left sleeping behind.
