राम राम सिय लखन पुकारी। परेउ धरनितल ब्याकुल भारी॥ देखि दखिन दिसि हय हिहिनाहीं। जनु बिनु पंख बिहग अकुलाहीं॥ ४ ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
rāma rāma siya lakhana pukārī। pareu dharanitala byākula bhārī॥ dekhi dakhina disi haya hihināhīṃ। janu bina pankha bihaga akulāhīṃ॥ 4 ॥
Meaning
[Seeing Nishad return alone], Sumantra cried, “Rama! Rama! Sita! Lakshmana!” and, overwhelmed with grief, fell to the ground. The horses keep neighing toward the south, where Rama has gone, as if they were birds distraught without wings.
