नृपहिं धीर धरि हृदयँ बिचारी। पठए अवध चतुर चर चारी॥ बूझि भरत सति भाउ कुभाऊ। आएहु बेगि न होइ लखाऊ॥ ४ ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
nṛpahiṃ dhīra dhari hṛdayaṃ bicārī। paṭhae avadha catura cara cārī॥ būjhi bharata sati bhāu kubhāū। āehu begi na hoi lakhāū॥ 4 ॥
Meaning
When no one offered advice, the king gathered his courage, reflected in his heart, and sent four clever spies to Ayodhya, telling them: find out Bharata’s true feelings—whether goodwill or ill will—toward Shri Ram, and return quickly without letting anyone discover you.
