निंदहिं आपु सराहहिं मीना। धिग जीवनु रघुबीर बिहीना॥ जौं पै प्रिय बियोगु बिधि कीन्हा। तौ कस मरनु न मागें दीन्हा॥ ३ ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
nindahiṃ āpu sarāhahiṃ mīnā। dhig jīvanu raghubīra bihīnā॥ joṃ pai priya biyogu bidhi kīnhā। tau kasa maranu na māṃgeṃ dīnhā॥ 3 ॥
Meaning
They reproach themselves and praise the fish. They say, “Woe to life without Raghubīra! If fate has ordained separation from the beloved, why then was death not granted when we asked for it?”
Context
This is Chaupai 3, Under Doha 86 from Ayodhya Kand, in the episode “Departure for the Forest, Ayodhya Left Behind”. The episode describes Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana departing for the forest while Ayodhya's grieving citizens are left sleeping behind.
