मनहुँ बारिनिधि बूड़ जहाजू। भयउ बिकल बड़ बनिक समाजू॥ एकहि एक देहिं उपदेसू। तजे राम हम जानि कलेसू॥ २ ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

manahuṃ bārinidhi būḍa jahājū। bhayau bikal baḍa banika samājū॥ eka hi eka dehīṃ upadesū। taje rāma hama jāni kalesū॥ 2 ॥

Meaning

It was as if a ship had sunk in the ocean, and the whole company of merchants had become deeply distraught. They counsel one another, saying that Rama has left them, knowing they would suffer hardship.

Context

This is Chaupai 2, Under Doha 86 from Ayodhya Kand, in the episode “Departure for the Forest, Ayodhya Left Behind”. The episode describes Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana departing for the forest while Ayodhya's grieving citizens are left sleeping behind.
