नाहिन रामु राज के भूखे। धरम धुरीन बिषय रस रूखे॥ गुर गृह बसहुँ रामु तजि गेहू। नृप सन अस बरु दूसर लेहू॥ २ ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
nāhin rāmu rāja ke bhūkhe। dharama dhurīna biṣaya rasa rūkhe॥ gura gṛha basahuṃ rāmu taji gehū। nṛpa sana asa baru dūsara lehū॥ 2 ॥
Meaning
Rama is not hungry for a kingdom. He bears the burden of righteousness and is indifferent to the taste of worldly pleasures—he has no attachment to them at all. [So do not fear that if Rama does not go to the forest he will obstruct Bharata’s rule; and if your mind still refuses,] take another boon from the king: let Rama leave home and live in the guru’s house.
