कुलिस कठोर सुनत कटु बानी। बिलपत लखन सीय सब रानी॥ सोक बिकल अति सकल समाजू। मानहुँ राजु अकाजेउ आजू॥ ३ ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
kulisa kaṭhora sunata kaṭu bānī। bilapata lakhana siya saba rānī॥ soka bikala ati sakala samājū। mānahuṃ rāju akājeu ājū॥ 3 ॥
Meaning
Hearing the harsh words, hard as thunderbolt, Lakshmana, Sita, and all the queens began to lament. The whole assembly was overwhelmed with sorrow, as if the king had died this very day.
