जानउँ सदा भरत कुलदीपा। बार बार मोहि कहेउ महीपा॥ कसें कनकु मनि पारिखि पाएँ। पुरुष परिखिअहिं समयँ सुभाएँ॥ ३ ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
jānaūṃ sadā bharata kuladīpā। bāra bāra mohi kaheu mahīpā॥ kaseṃ kanaka mani pārikhi pāeṃ। puruṣa parikhiahiṃ samayaṃ subhāeṃ॥ 3 ॥
Meaning
I always know Bharata to be the lamp of our line. The king has told me this again and again. Gold is recognized when tested on the touchstone, and a gem only when judged by a jeweler. Likewise, a person is tested by his nature when the time comes.
