जब सिय कानन देखि डेराई। कहेहु मोरि सिख अवसरु पाई॥ सासु ससुर अस कहेउ सँदेसू। पुत्रि फिरिअ बन बहुत कलेसू॥ २ ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
jaba siya kānana dekhi ḍerāī। kahehu mori sikha avasaru pāī॥ sāsu sasura asa kaheu saṃdesū। putri phiria bana bahuta kalesū॥ 2 ॥
Meaning
When Sita becomes afraid on seeing the forest, then, finding the opportunity, tell her my advice: 'Your mother-in-law and father-in-law have sent this message: Daughter, return from the forest; there is much hardship there.'
Context
This is Chaupai 2, Under Doha 82 from Ayodhya Kand, in the episode “Departure for the Forest, Ayodhya Left Behind”. The episode describes Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana departing for the forest while Ayodhya's grieving citizens are left sleeping behind.
