हंसगवनि तुम्ह नहिं बन जोगू। सुनि अपजसु मोहि देइहि लोगू॥ मानस सलिल सुधाँ प्रतिपाली। जिअइ कि लवन पयोधि मराली॥ ३ ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

haṃsagavani tumhaṃ nahiṃ bana jogū। suni apajasu mohi deihi lāgū॥ mānasa salila sudhāṃ pratipālī। jiaī ki lavana payodhi marālī॥ 3 ॥

Meaning

O swan-gaited one, you are not suited to the forest. If people hear that you are going there, they will blame me. Can a swan reared on the nectar-like waters of Lake Manas live in the salty ocean?
