एक बिधातहि दूषनु देहीं। सुधा देखाइ दीन्ह बिषु जेहीं॥ खरभरु नगर सोचु सब काहू। दुसह दाहु उर मिटा उछाहू॥ १ ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
eka bidhātahi dūṣanu dehīṃ। sudhā dekhāi dīna biṣu jehīṃ॥ kharabharu nagara socu saba kāhū। dusaha dāhu ura miṭā uchāhū॥ 1 ॥
Meaning
Some blame Providence, saying that it showed nectar and then gave poison. There was uproar throughout the city; everyone was stricken with grief. A terrible burning arose in the heart, and joy and enthusiasm vanished.
