धरि धीरजु उठि बैठ भुआलू। कहु सुमंत्र कहँ राम कृपालू॥ कहाँ लखनु कहँ रामु सनेही। कहँ प्रिय पुत्रबधू बैदेही॥ १ ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

dhari dhīraju uṭhi baiṭha bhuālū। kahu sumaṃtra kahaṃ rāma kṛpālū॥ kahāṃ lakhanu kahaṃ rāmu sanehī। kahaṃ priya putrabadhū baidehī॥ 1 ॥

Meaning

Gathering patience, the king rose and sat up, and said, 'Sumantra, tell me: where are merciful Rama and Lakshmana? Where is dear Rama, and where is my beloved daughter-in-law, Vaidehi?'
