धरि धीरजु सुत बदनु निहारी। गदगद बचन कहति महतारी॥ तात पितहि तुम्ह प्रान पिआरे। देखि मुदित नित चरित तुम्हारे॥ ३ ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

dhari dhīraju suta badanu nihārī। gadgada bacana kahati mahatārī॥ tāta pitahi tumha prāna piāre। dekhi mudita nita carita tumhāre॥ 3 ॥

Meaning

Taking courage and looking at her son's face, the mother began to speak in a choked voice: 'Dear son, you are as dear to your father as life itself. Seeing your conduct, he was always delighted.'
