भूप सुमंत्रु लीन्ह उर लाई। बूड़त कछु अधार जनु पाई॥ सहित सनेह निकट बैठारी। पूँछत राउ नयन भरि बारी॥ १ ॥

bhūpa sumantru līnha ura lāī। būḍata kachu adhāra janu pāī॥ sahita saneha nikaṭa baiṭhārī। pūṃchata rāu nayana bhari bārī॥ 1 ॥
Meaning
The king embraced Sumantra to his heart, as if a drowning man had found some support. Seating him nearby with affection, and with tears filling his eyes, the king began to ask—
