तामस धर्म करहिं नर जप तप ब्रत मख दान। देव न बरषहिं धरनीं बए न जामहिं धान॥ १०१ (ख) ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

tāmasa dharma karahiṃ nara japa tapa brata makha dāna। deva na baraṣahiṃ dharanīṃ bae na jāmahiṃ dhāna॥ 101 (b) ॥

Meaning

People perform japa, austerity, vows, sacrifice, and charity in a tamasic spirit. The gods do not send rain upon the earth, and the sown grain does not sprout.
