सुनु खगेस हरि भगति बिहाई। जे सुख चाहहिं आन उपाई॥ ते सठ महासिंधु बिनु तरनी। पैरि पार चाहहिं जड़ करनी॥ २ ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

sunu khagesa hari bhagati bihāī। je sukha chāhahiṃ āna upāī॥ te saṭha mahāsindhu binu taranī। pairi pāra chāhahiṃ jaḍa karanī॥ 2 ॥

Meaning

Listen, lord of birds: those who leave Hari's devotion and seek happiness by other means are fools and dull-witted—they wish to cross the great ocean without a boat, relying on foolish efforts.
