जे असि भगति जानि परिहरहीं। केवल ग्यान हेतु श्रम करहीं॥ ते जड़ कामधेनु गृहँ त्यागी। खोजत आकु फिरहिं पय लागी॥ १ ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
je asi bhagati jāni pariharahīṃ। kevala gyāna hetu śrama karahīṃ॥ te jaḍa kāmadhenu gṛhaṃ tyāgī। khojata āku phirahim paya lāgī॥ 1 ॥
Meaning
Those who, knowing the greatness of such devotion, still abandon it and toil only for knowledge are fools who leave the wish-fulfilling cow standing at home and wander about looking for milk from the aak plant.
