रहा एक दिन अवधि कर अति आरत पुर लोग। जहँ तहँ सोचहिं नारि नर कृस तन राम बियोग॥ १ ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
rahā eka dina avadhi kar ati ārata pura loga। jahaṁ tahaṁ socahiṃ nāri nara kr̥sa tana rāma biyaoga॥ 1 ॥
Meaning
Only one day remained in the appointed time, and the people of the city were अत्यन्त restless. Men and women grown lean through separation from Rama were wandering here and there, anxiously thinking.
