पर हित सरिस धर्म नहिं भाई। पर पीड़ा सम नहिं अधमाई॥ निर्नय सकल पुरान बेद कर। कहेउँ तात जानहिं कोबिद नर॥ १ ॥
Transliteration (IAST)
para hita sarisa dharma nahiṃ bhāī। para pīṛā sama nahiṃ adhamāī॥ nirnaya sakala purāna beda kara। kāheuṃ tāta jānahiṃ kobida nara॥ 1 ॥
Meaning
O brother, there is no dharma like doing good to others, and no baseness like causing suffering to others. O dear one, this is the settled conclusion of all the Puranas and the Vedas, and learned men know it.
